HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY GAGA

Dear Fashion-Lovers,

ITS STORY TIME !!! (HAHAHA)

Once upon a time a man and woman got a baby girl.

This baby girl grew up and became a very dedicated, studious, disciplined and unsecure girl.

People made fun of her for being either too provocative or too eccentric.

She didn’t fit in with the rest of the crowd cause she apparently she was a “freak”.

But that girl grew up, and she became a woman.

Now she’s a singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, activist, businesswoman, fashion designer, actress and philanthropist.

Influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Queen, she known worldwide for her flamboyant, diverse and outrageous contributions to the music industry through her fashion, performances and music videos.

That girl is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known worldwide as Lady Gaga.

And today she’s celebrating her 27th birthday with her all little monsters.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY GAGA.

TO LADY GAGA: ALL THE BEST WISHES & MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

Beyoncé's Mrs. Carter Tour Designer: Julien MacDonald

Dear Fashion-Lovers,

There's exiting news for British designer, Julien MacDonalds.

Beyoncé has apparently personally asked the British designer, Julien MacDonalds to create the costumes for her upcoming Mrs Carter tour.

Here's Beyoncé's promo for her Mrs. Carter World Tour:

It’s not the first time Mr Macdonald has worked with Beyoncé.
Back in 2011, Mrs Carter wore three of his designs in just one week and for her 2013 New Year’s Eve performance in Las Vegas it was Julien who created her sequinned and tassled gold playsuit. Maybe it’s down to the designer’s original desire to a pop star (“I realised early on that I cannot sing!”) but there’s something about the way he knows just where and when sequins, fringing, corsetry and embellishment need to come in to create dramatic concert costumes.
“There’s nothing better than seeing somebody you admire, or someone who embodies Julien Macdonald,” Julien explained while chatting through his autumn/winter ‘Viva Las Vegas’ collection in his West London studio a few weeks ago, “I like girls like Beyoncé or Kristen Stewart, they are amazing women. Iconic. They are part of a new generation. When she started wearing my clothes it was AMAZING!”

With just a couple of days to smash, Julien’s certainly going to have his work cut out.
How many changes will she do per night?
Is it a going to have a theme?
With Mr. Macdonald be travelling around on her tour bus?

I just can't wait to see the results!

Here are some other stars rockin' Julien MacDonalds's designs:

Nicki Minaj cover's Elle April 2013

Dear Fashion-Lovers,

Nicki Minaj looked gorgeous as she went nearly makeup free on the cover of Elle Magazine's April 2013 issue.

Here's what The Queen Of HipHop had to share with the magazine:

On her make-under for Elle‘s shoot: “When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a… like, I’m so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it’s hard. I feel that it’s become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes- you know, nothing – I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes.”
On advice to women on how to command respect: “My advice to women in general: Even if you’re doing a nine-to-five job, treat yourself like a boss. Not arrogant, but be sure of what you want- and don’t allow people to run anything for you without your knowledge. You want everyone to know, Okay, I can’t play games with her. I have to do right by this woman. That’s what it’s all about.”
On world domination: “My goal in the beginning was to buy my mother a house. Now I realize, Okay, if I really focus and become a key player in business, then I can build an empire. I’m thinking of a legacy that I can be proud of and wealth that my grandchildren can use to go to college. So world domination- in terms of providing for my family – is absolutely my goal.”

Here are some more pics of Nicki Minaj:

Don't forget to grab your issue, which is going to be on newsstands on March 26.

Fashion Star: Showstoppers (S2E1)

Dear Fashion-Lovers,

Today is finally the day, that i’m going to give you all a recap, of what happened last Friday night on Fashion Star. And I apologize cause I know that I should’ve posted this way earlier but I was a little busy this weekend, studying for exams that I have this week and that’s why I couldn't post this befor. But anyways, here comes the boom.

Fashion Star was amazing, and also a bit different from season 1.

Earlier in the week, the mentors  (Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos, Nicole Richie) made the announcement that things were going to be a little bit different this season. All the mentors had to handpick their teams, which consisted out of four desigers, to coach through the weekly challanges.

Here are the teams:

Team Nicole Richie:
~ Priscilla Barrosso
~ Bret Young
~ Johana Hernandez
~ Daniel Silverstein

Team Jessica Simpson:
~ Hunter Bell
~ Tori Nichel
~  David Appel
~ JesseRay and Garrett Gerson (who are the only duo in this season)

~ Amber Perley
~ Cassandra Hobbins
~ Silvia Arguello
~ Brandon Scott

The mentors sat down with their teams for the first time to meet their designers, and the competitive spirit quickly kicks in.
Team John was First the hit the runway and John was thrilled with the designs.
The designers from Team John who made sale were:
~ Amber Perley, she made all the buyers put up an offer, but finally Express won.
~ Sylvia Arguello, she got a bid from Saks Fifth Avenue
~ Brandon Scott, his twofer hoodie got a bid from Macy’s
The designer from Team John who didn't got any bid was Cassandra Hobbins.

Team Nicole was second to hit the runway and Nicole was as mentor very pleased.
The designers from Team Nicole who made a sale were:
~ Daniel Silverstein, he got a bit from Saks Fifth Avenue
~ Priscilla Barrosso, her fabulous romper got a bit from Macy’s
~ Johana Hernandez, she got a bid from both Macy’s and Express
The designer from Team Nicole who didn't got bid was Bret Young

Team Jessica was the last team the hit the runway.
The only designer who made sale in this team was Hunter Bell. All the buyers bid on her design but finally Saks Fifth Avenue welcomed Hunter Bell in their family.
The designers from Team Jessica who didn't got any bid were:
Tori Nichel, David Appel & JesseRay and Garrett Gerson .

My top 3 favorite designers were:
~ Amber Perley
~ Priscilla Barrosso
~ Hunter Bell

Unfortunately Bret Young from Team Nicole was eliminated and the only duo in the competition JesseRay and Garrett Gerson  from Team Jessica was saved by the buyers.

Also I have to add that even thou I missed Elle Macpherson, I thought that Louise Roe looked absolutely stunning and she did an amazing job.
I also loved Nicole Richie's hair, cause I  thought it was absolutely stunning.
Jessica Simpson & John Varvatos looked good as always.

So that was pretty much it, and I’m anxious to see what the designers are going to come up with this week. Also don't forget to tune in this friday @8/7 on NBC to watch Fashion Star.

Much love, DreamAngelll97

Fashion Star: Season 2

Dear Fashion-Lovers,

One of my favorite shows, Fashion Star, is returning on march 8th 2013 (tomorrow) with season 2, and honestly I’m so excited to see what the designers will bring for us this season.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this show, Fashion Star is an American reality television series, which focuses on fashion design. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and have them purchased by a buyer. The contestants are restricted in time, materials and theme, each week. Any designer whose clothes are not purchased that week is up for elimination from the show. Their designs are judged by the celebrity mentors who will save one unsold contestant each week. Then the three buyers choose which of the remaining unsold designers is sent home. At the end of the season, the three remaining contestants must create separate showcases of three garments for each retailer. Whoever meets the needs of the three retailers will be named "Fashion Star" and will receive a capsule collection worth $6 million within each store.

The mentors are Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos.

The host for season two is Glamour Magazine’s fashion editor Louise Roe, who will be replacing Elle Macpherson which was the host for season 1.

The winner of season 1 was Kara Laricks with Ronnie Escalante and Nzimiro Oputa as runner-ups.

The buyers are Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express which is replacing H&M this season.
